Time in His hands

With the New Year in full swing 🎊🎉 we have reached the stage where everything seems refreshed 😌. Where we become quick to say 👋 to 2022 and welcome 2023 with a bang 🎇 (and I'd certainly say quite a few bangs this year, with early rehearsals 😅). Whether that's because 2022 hasn't been kind to you or hoping to impress upon the New Year as you would a New Boss 🤞 or simply enjoying the festivities.....it is peculiar why we celebrate 🤔

Annually we celebrate our birthdays 🎂 and anniversaries 💍 because they have significance to us and clearly have a start date and end date. I mean, we don't celebrate when a piece of cake 🍰 reaches its end date, considering it doesn't make us joyful but 🤮 if it goes over or the date is wrong 👎 and yet like 🍰, the year was made and has a short lifespan. On that subject, because it is 2023 doesn't mean creation is 2023 years old as we calculate our ages 😜 but we celebrate New Year for the Re-New-al 👌 and like 'Christmas' for the Romans, just simply to enjoy 'the best of days' to party 🤷‍♂️

Whatever the reason, we have the Romans to thank for aligning our days with the seasons 🌱🌻🍁❄️ to give us the 12 months of the year to match the lunar cycles at the time of Julius Caesar. This was during a time that the Romans had their own gods and so had nothing to do with the God of the Bible and yet ⚠️ that realignment actually obeyed the Bible 😂 for God created the ☀️, 🌑 & ✨ on the 4th day of creation 'for signs and for seasons...for days and years' (Gen 1:14-19)

This isn't the only example of secular leaders and secular societies/cultures doing what the Bible says. We only need to look at our own law books ⚖️ and spending time in study, you can link 🔗 the Law of the land with a passage of a Scripture 📜 which naturally makes sense when taking note of the past and how secular societies were once built ⚒️ on what the Bible says as their rock ⛰️ and now act contradictory ⚠️ Why? Because we are in the business of rewriting History 🤷‍♂️ because we want it to be appealing, more acceptable rather than tell the Truth. It is why we've even had movements such as Black Lives Matter.

Ordinarily, the laws on Intellectual Property are such that we own the rights to what we create 🤷‍♂️ unless you've agreed Terms and Conditions that sell off that right. This is why cases come before the courts 👨‍⚖️ because there is a modern day usurption at play. In the past, one usurped the throne 👑 when one replaced the King  and its the same with copyright ©️, you usurp what belongs to another and replace their name with your own. This is what happens when you 'cancel'. Many blaming 'Wokeism' as giving rise to the 'Cancel culture' ❌ but the Cancel culture ❌ started wayyyy before when we forget our roots 🌱 such as taking Christ ✝️ out of Christ✝️mas.

It is why I share the Christmas story as it is, because even the Nativity story doesn't get it right 😂 and the Christmas story is.....as David Tennant said the last time he was the Doctor, "so much more!" + so it's truly sad 😭 when we are taking away ➖ from it, but that has been the mission, the modus operandi (m.o) of the Opposition from the believing. Writing before of 👑 Herod and his decree to kill all children under the age of 2 (Mat 2:16) to take ➖ Jesus out of the equation. If not for God's light 🔆 to direct Joseph from harm's way from my message on the 30th, it would be a very different story we would be telling IF we would be telling a story at all.

To return to a conclusion I've made in the past, it is His omniscience 🧠 that gives us that assurance. Not only knowing what's ahead but that He has an action plan going on, that He is in control. For just as Julius Caesar had no motivation to do what the Bible says, nor did Caesar Augustus to order a census that would cause mass movement across his empire (Lk 2:1) and yet it caused Jesus ✝️ to be born in Bethlehem as the Bible had foretold (Lk 2:11). These examples are but the tip of the iceberg 🧊🌊

It reveals to me that nothing comes by surprise to Him, nothing is by accident. Everyone and every thing has a place and a purpose, which includes me and you 😊 for everything has its time ⌚ (Eccl 3). For 14 generations may sound long to you (Mt 1:17) but when Abraham to David 👑 established His Promise and His Law, when David 👑 to Babylon established His Kingdom and His Mercy, to end in His fulfilment in equal measure 📐 after setting the backdrop of the Christmas 🌟 story, it all makes sense 👍

The very same applies today, for the time since His death may sound long (2 Pet 3:4) but this only established His Grace 😇 (2 Pet 3:9) waiting for everyone that reads this message and everyone that draws breath.

For today in America 🇺🇸, January 2nd is considered Motivation and Inspiration Day that was created to help people move on from 9/11, to move on from tragedy and I believe tragedy can take many forms to affect us all. Not everyone can take on the New Year in a positive light but I 🙏🏻 for the strength to do so and encourage/challenge the same 🤟😎

While the secular world views January as Celebration of Life month and Catholics celebrate Holy Name of Jesus month, I believe we can marry the two 💍 if we see Jesus/God as our source/root 🌱 of life. Being this, that gives us cause to celebrate the New Year 🎉 because we've managed to run another lap in life's race 🏃🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ and we are not finished yet.....

For I hope that you'd take this message as you would water 🥤 in a marathon, in the spirit of the New Year to refresh/renew yourselves and begin again 👍 If mistakes were made before or things not done before, you now have a chance. Seeking Him ✝️ would not be a bad start 😜

Reward of Faith

Now I believe I have heard of Movember  which encourages men 🚹 to let their moustaches grow to look like Mr Pringles 🥠 and Manuary was setup in the same way but including all facial hair. Set up by boys in a Boarding School 🏫 in Canada 🇨🇦 because they couldn't take part in Movember because it was against their dress code 😅 but I am not going to write 📝 about beards and the right for our emoticons to include moustaches and beards too (because I've checked and see none 😅😂). Instead today I address the complete opposite and address the ladies 🚺 😱 Scandalous I know! I've let the side down xD In all seriousness though, 3rd January is celebrated as 'Women Rock Day' 👩‍🎤 in an ode to female artists in the music 🎶  industry, stemming from Aretha Franklin BUT I am to go further today to celebrate Women who do 'Rock' 👩‍🎤 by their Faith 🙏🏻 and Courage 💪 that they displayed and were rewarded for it 🏆 by being -in- Christ Jesus ✝️ and I will explain wh

New Year Reflections

First of all and at the very end of the day, I want to wish you all a happy new year 🎊 for as I said in my message yesterday, 2022 has come and gone ever so quickly and leaves us hopeful 🙏🏻 but cautious for 2023. We need to make sure we use our precious time wisely ⌚ and one way we can do that is by reflection 🤔 and the other way is by change ☑️ We do not know what 2023 will bring and we all have our own ideas/hopes, just as we hear Rishi Sunak speak of the New Year as an opportunity to be our best, while Keir Starmer hails the need for hope and that hope needs change. Spoken with political motivations but in the times we live in, we do need hope 🙏🏻 and it reminds me of Israel when the Prophet Isaiah foretold the birth of Christ over 400y before (Isa 9:6) which was partially fulfilled at Christmas 🌟 with Christ's return when 'the Government shall be upon his shoulder' to come ➡️ Christmas is just the start + the hope continues 😊 but change must come from all of us.
